Maximo SaaS Deployment



Background:

Crown Entertainment is Australia's largest gaming and entertainment group with a market capitalization of just over A$9 billion. Crown wholly owns and operates two of Australia's leading gambling and entertainment complexes, Crown Melbourne and Crown Perth.


In 2021, after four years of construction Crown Entertainment opened their first Sydney Entertainment complex. Crown Sydney is the tallest building in Sydney and boasts a six-star hotel, casino, 14 restaurants and bars and a luxury spa retreat.



This truly unique facility has already been dubbed one of the finest hotels in the world.



Challenge:

  • Crown Melbourne was already a long-term Maximo user. The challenge was to leverage the implementation in Melbourne to build out a new Maximo solution for Sydney in the cloud.

  • The idea was to develop a Gold-Standard Maximo that could be utilised across all three properties that improved business processes, was user-friendly and made decision-making easier through better data models.

  • They needed a partner that not only understood Maximo but had the facilities management expertise to drive asset management outcomes while reducing IT burden on their technicians.

Engagement and Outcomes:

After a thorough RFT process Crown Melbourne engaged Millennium Insights to perform the following Asset Management Services:


  • Conduct a thorough analysis of the current implementation in Melbourne in order to identifying deficiencies.

  • Implement a non-customized IBM Maximo SaaS solution, configured to the specific needs of the organisation.

  • Design screens, workflows and an asset data model that streamlined asset management activity.

  • Develop a Mobile App that reduced IT burden for their technicians while meeting corporate regulations.



Our Approach:

MI Conducted a Needs Analysis in order to develop a detailed Systems Design that met

Crown’s multi-faceted business requirements.


The implemented solution focused on:


  • Asset Lifecycle Management

  • Work Management Workflows

  • Supply chain Management

  • Improved functional and locational hierarchies

  • Streamlined Screen designs

  • Integration with Financial, Active Directory and Company records.


The Results:

The Crown Entertainment Group now have a Gold Standard implementation for Maximo that can be leveraged across the business. The results include:


  • Enhanced two-way communication enabling transparent contractor management.

  • Streamlined business processes utilising Maximo workflows and automation.

  • Simplified screens reducing IT burden for technicians.

  • Effective data structures enabling accurate capturing of cost and failure information.

  • Greater governance and corporate responsibility across the supply chain.

  • MI delivered the entire project during COVID, leveraging technology to overcome the

  • challenge of not being able to have face-to-face meetings

  • Change Management was a big component of the project and MI were able to

  • simplify the solution to ensure technicians bought in to the process.

  • Crown no have a platform to grow their asset management capabilities and maturity.
